The project is called “Healthy Living and Active Ageing”, and will be conducted by a consortium called InnoLife, based in Munich, which consists of about 50 key partners and 90 associate organizations including leading companies, research centres and universities from 14 countries of the EU, with a total budget of about € 2.1 billion, which is one of the biggest health initiatives in the world to be financed by public money.
Regional activities of the consortium will be realized through six centres with key partners – which are strong centres of innovation, such as: London, Stockholm, Barcelona, Paris, Heidelberg and Rotterdam.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase is about to begin and goes on until 2018, while the second phase is envisaged to start in 2018 and last until 2022. All the project activities are based on the continuous development of innovation related to healthy living and active ageing, promoting entrepreneurship, and the development of products, services and / or concepts, with a multidisciplinary and international approach. The aim is to increase the quality of life and health in Europe. Special attention will be devoted to the development of science and new educational programmes that will educate and develop new talents for future jobs in the health market.
Our partner’s task, within their project, is the creation of the activities, models and platforms that will involve other regional actors in the field of education, health and entrepreneurship. Such actors are, among others, the University of Rijeka, the Ministry of Health, health institutions, government agencies and companies, being producers and distributors of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment.
We are certain that our clients, coming to the region for their various therapies, treatments or health advises will profit from such a knowledgable and innovative, dedicated institution, which looks forward to the new solutions in resolving health issues as well as it cherishes the tradition, climatic advantages and cultural environment for general well-being.
